The nine-day Fiesta of San Fermín runs annually every July. It officially begins at midday on 6th July every year by setting off the pyrotechnic chupinazo, to midnight 14 July, when after nine days of partying, a large crowd gathers in front of the Town Hall to sing "Pobre de Mí." (Poor me)
While the best known event is the encierro, or the running of the bulls, made popular by Hemingway, during the celebration, parades, dancing, music, all-night parties and drumming take over the streets.
